Photograph Japan - Sign on 3 Men Midget Submarine Called Kairyu, Yokusuka Japan 141 Built from March 1945 to end of War; Kama Kaza or Kamikaze Plane, Suicide Plane Used Against Our Ships in WW2

This is the sign that is on the three men Japanese submarine on display in Yokusuka, Japan which at the time I believe was a Naval Base. Sign says the following:

3 MEN SUBMARINE.....USUALLY 2 MEN NAMED KAIRYU.....18 TORPEDO X2.....EXPLOSIVE CHARGE 1500 LBS (700KGS) IN STEM SHELL....../SPEED 9 KNOTS....DISPLACEMENT 41,000 LBS (18,500KGS)....NO OF BUILT 141,  BUILT FROM MARCH 1945

I am so glad that Captain Green wrote captions on the slides, for I would have assumed this was at Johnson Air Force Base later renamed Iruma Air Base. This next photo is of the sub full view and partial. If you click on it it should make it larger and more detailed.

This is the Kama Kaza Plane, suicide plane used against our ships in WWII.  This display was in Johnson Air Force Base, later renamed  Iruma Air Base
